Mr. Ralph Staples

Ralph Staples serves as Vice President of the Marketing and Proposal Center (MAPCEN) and directs the company's strategic planning efforts.

Mr. Staples has more than 25 years’ of leadership and management experience in the marine industry advancing from technical operations to executive leadership. He has extensive experience and technical knowledge in reliability and maintenance engineering, ship construction and ship maintenance. Prior to joining Epsilon he was a Senior Principal and project manager for a major consulting firm providing reliability and maintenance related engineering consulting services to Navy and commercial customers and senior executive responsibilities for the Navy at one of the largest U. S. shipyards conducting new ship construction

While on active duty in the U. S. Navy, he served as the Supervisor of Shipbuilding at Bath Iron Works (BIW) where he was responsible for the design, construction and life-cycle management of AEGIS guided missile destroyers. Additionally, he held positions as Force Maintenance Officer for the Naval Surface Force of the U. S. Pacific Fleet, served as Senior Engineer for the U. S. Pacific Fleet Board of Inspection and Survey, AEGIS Program Manager Representative responsible for the design and construction management of the lead ship of the USS ARLEIGH BURKE (DDG 51) Class of AEGIS Guided Missile Destroyers, and held various seagoing engineering positions in destroyers, amphibious ships and an aircraft carrier.

He is a graduate of the Executive Development Program at the University of Illinois, Urbana-Champaign, IL, holds an M.S. in Mechanical Engineering from the U.S. Naval Postgraduate School, Monterey, CA. and a B.S. in Marine Engineering (with distinction) from Maine Maritime Academy.
