Mr. Dean Araujo
President and General Manager, Fleet Engineering Services
Mr. Dean Araujo serves as President and General Manager of the Fleet Engineering Services Sector. His responsibilities include leadership of a team of top notch engineers, highly skilled and experienced engineering technicians and professional business process experts who provide a full range of technical and related business services in support or our Navy, MSC and USCG customers.
Mr. Araujo has over 35 years experience in program management and technical support of Navy ship repairs. Prior to joining Epsilon Systems, he was responsible for the business engagement, development and bidding process for government and commercial ship repair contracts at BAE Systems San Diego Ship Repair (formerly Southwest Marine). Before joining BAE Systems, Mr. Araujo was a Vice President at Pacific Defense Systems.
Mr. Araujo spent a lengthy and successful career in federal government service ultimately retiring as the Repair Director (Deputy Repair Officer) at the Supervisor of Shipbuilding (SUPSHIP), Conversion and Repair, USN, San Diego. While serving in that position he was responsible for the on-time and within budget completion of depot level repairs on all Navy ships and craft in the San Diego area. He was responsible for more than four hundred million dollars in annual ship repair contracts with the local master ship repair (MSR) and agreement for boat repair (ABR) contractors. He also provided leadership to more than one hundred civilian employees from senior managers to ship surveyors. He was a key member of the SUPSHIP San Diego Executive Steering Committee and served on numerous groups that transformed the San Diego waterfront into the success story that it is today. One of Mr. Araujo’s significant accomplishments was development of a joint weekly senior management meeting with the local Master Ship Repair contractors. Through that forum, combined with his many years of waterfront experience, Mr. Araujo was able to build strong alliances with the ship repair contractors and forge relationships that led to improved processes and faster resolution of emerging problems at the shipyards.
